Tony practices both civil and criminal litigation, with particular focus on commercial, securities and finance, criminal and matrimonial practices. In his civil practice, Tony has experience in conducting trials related to commercial, company and trust disputes.
Tony regularly represents various parties in SFC investigations and is experienced in handling interviews with its enforcement section. He has experience representing clients residing overseas in joint investigations conducted by the SFC and securities commissions of foreign jurisdictions such as Ontario and British Columbia. Tony has also been instructed to advise and draft responses to Stock Exchange enquiries regarding transfer of shares and compliancing matters. Tony is currently an Independent Non-executive Director of two Hong Kong listed companies (1906 – Bonny International Holding Ltd, 8331 – P.B. Group Ltd (GEM)).
In his criminal practice, Tony has a white-collar practice in areas of fraud and cases prosecuted by the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) and the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC). Tony also has experience conducting trials and applications at various Magistracies and the District Court.
In his matrimonial practice, Tony appears (both as lead junior and sole advocate) in first appointments, child matters, maintenance pending suit, preliminary issues for determination of property ownership, as well as ancillary relief. Tony has experience in applications for (and to vary) custody and access orders, as well as advising on various stages of divorce actions.
Fluent in oral and written English, Cantonese and Mandarin, Tony is comfortable with bilingual proceedings.
