The Tower Chambers Christmas Lunch is an established and significant event. The first lunch was in 1995 and was presided over by the late Anthony Sedgwick QC with a formal English Christmas Lunch, in Landaus, an upmarket sister restaurant of Jimmy’s Kitchen that has now closed its kitchen.
Since then we have gathered together in various places and for the last few years enjoyed meeting in the Dining Room and Veranda at the FCC. The emphasis remains on good food but we make sure that the traditional turkey is just one choice amongst many. Former members including past and current members of the judiciary mix amiably with new arrivals and current pupils. The latter traditionally are responsible for embarrassing, but most of the times delightfully surprising, their seniors with activities, quizzes and games in which all must take part.
This is an important event where we all relax together after a year of hard work and look forward to family time over the Christmas and New Year holidays.
